William Jason Lipscomb was born in Sanford, North Carolina. After moving to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he attended the public schools until graduation in 1996. Immediately following graduation from high school, Will attended the University of Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a double major in sculpture and graphic design. He entered the West Alabama Juried Art Show in 1999, 2000, and 2001 and received an honorable mention for Chosen in 2001. The sculpture Courage earned him a second place award at the Arts and Science Student Juried Show in 2001, while his thesis exhibition show was held at Moody Art Gallery in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After college graduation, Will became an independent, freelance artist. He has completed sculptures with various types of media, such as wood, metal, bronze, bubblegum, and hard candy. Dimensions of his sculptures range from small pedestal works to large wall pieces up to six feet in diameter. Individuals and businesses have contracted him for his graphic design expertise including the design of brochures, logos, business cards, seals and posters. The computer graphics have honed the painting skills for Will, and have enabled him to develop sensitivity to color and lighting in his murals and canvas paintings. Will has completed various styles of murals and paintings in elementary schools, prisons, hospitals, gyms, restaurants, churches, and private homes. The sizes of murals have been up to eighty feet across, but normally range about ten feet by eight feet. Will currently resides in Maylene, Alabama with his lovely wife, Brandy, and beautiful daughters, Kate and Cali. He is the owner of 00art Designs and continues to depend on God to provide for him and his family through the gift of art that the Lord has given him. |
