Artist Statement:
Spending many childhood years recovering from surgeries and the loss of my father at an early age led me to a life of introspection and the need to express my thoughts and ideas visually in the quest to define myself as a woman and as an artist. I understand solitude in all its richness as a consequence of these early events. That understanding is an important undercurrent in all my work.
Work that leads me to the task of confronting the truth of my past and present produces images that are authentic, and it is authenticity that I seek
