1962

Majored in traditional Chinese painting in Guangdong Literature and History Institute.

1964

Start oil painting sketch from nature.

1966

Chinese Culture Revolution broke out,

Took Lake Luhu as a base for sketch from nature,

Formed the foundation of Luhu School.

1981

One painting was selected to exhibit in “Asian Modern Fine Arts Exhibition” and Tokyo Modern Art Museum.

1982

Entrusted by Asian Modern Fine Arts Association of Japan, organized Chinese painters in the name of “ Canton Fine Arts Research Board” to participate the annual “Asian Modern Fine Arts Exhibition”. This international activity continued many years.

1983

Tried Avant-garde art with some young painters and held the earliest Avant-garde Art Exhibition after the reform and opening-up in Canton, but very soon all the works were confiscated by local police.

1984

Held the first Christianity Fine Arts Exhibition in China with several artist friends and did it again the next year.

1985

Held the very first personal exhibition in Cultural Park in Canton and at the same time conducted the 2^nd Avant-garde Art Exhibition with several artist friends in the 1^st museum of Cultural Park.

1987

Became a member of Artists Association of Guangdong Province and hired as a foreign affairs adviser by oil painting department, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

1988

Appointed by Mr. Xuanping Ye, the then-governor of Guangdong Province as a member of Research Institute of Culture and History of Guangdong Province.

Held an exhibition together with the famous Australian painters ---- the Betz couple.

Appointed as an outside painter of Art Academy of Guangzhou.

A work of miniature oil painting named “Road” was displayed in the Exhibition of Small Works of Art in Canada and gained the first prize.

1989

Invited by Melbourne Academy of Fine Arts to give lectures but could not make it because of the Event of Tian’anmen Square ( The Event of 4^th June );

Filmed as topic television program by Guangdong TV Station and Taiwan Zhongtian TV Station.

1990~1991

Invited by Guo’an Museum in Paris and approved by China’s Ministry of Culture, headed for Paris to hold personal oil painting exhibition and have made a tour of observation of the galleries in Paris for 3 months.

In 1991, the 2^nd personal oil painting exhibition named “Impression of France” was held in Zhongshan Library of Guangdong Province.

1992

Held personal oil painting exhibition in Chongguang Gallery Taiwan.

1993

Elected as a member of Guangdong Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference;

Organized painters of Luhu School to hold the 1st collective exhibition in Dragon Art Gallery in Taiwan.

1994

Held personal oil painting exhibition in Macau City Hall.

1995

Held the 6^th personal oil painting exhibition in Zhongshan Library of Guangdong Province;

Held personal oil painting exhibition in Xinhui City Guangdong Province;

Organized and led the Chinese artists delegation to Australia for exchange and sketch from nature.

1996

Organized painters of Luhu School to hold the collective exhibition in the Art Academy of Guangdong Province;

Opened a column for years in Yangcheng Evening News to probe the relation between art collection and market;

Held personal oil painting exhibition in Art Center of Taishan City Guangdong Province;

Monographic study on early oil paintings in China, published papers in “Culture and History of Lingnan” and “Artists” magazine of Taiwan and demonstrated that Chinese oil painting was originated in Lingnan Region China;

Held the 9^th personal oil painting exhibition in Art Academy of Guangdong Province.

1997

Invited by City Council of Zachary, Louisiana, US to hold personal oil painting exhibition in the museum.

1998

Elected as the 9^th NPC (National People's Congress) member of Guangdong Province;

Held the 10^th personal oil painting exhibition named “ May in USA” in the Art Academy of Guangdong Province.

2003

Held personal oil painting exhibition in Tianren Gallery in Shunde City, Guangdong Province.

2004

Elected as the 10^th NPC (National People's Congress) member of Guangdong Province and appointed as Internal Judicial Affairs Committee member.

2005

Organized some painters to hold the 3^rd exhibition of Luhu School in Taiwan.

2007

Organized the 4^th exhibition of Luhu School in Art Academy of Guangdong Province.

2008

Organized the 5^th exhibition of Luhu School in Art Academy of Guangdong Province.
