A lifelong involvement in the Arts, including graduating in art at the University of Utah in 1954, coupled with diligent application of work and learning for over 50 years, has aided Bruce Mitchell towards a successful technique of artistic expression. Years of satisfying patrons with magnificent scenes depicting peaceful landscapes, traditional homesteads, endearing wildlife, mountains, lakes, and beautiful stream scenes has captivated travelers in the United States and people throughout the world. Oil paintings are lasting keepsakes enjoyed now, and passed on down to family or friends for years to come.

His impressive art talents have been recognized by those who have used art as a way to make a lasting statement, such as the Vermont First Bank, in the State of Vermont. Mr. Mitchell was commissioned to do a series of 44 paintings depicting the Firsts done in Vermont for the two hundredth anniversary celebration.  These remarkable representations of the works of extraordinary inventions and numerous achievements of Vermonters over time, were eventually displayed (the first of its kind) in the Russell Senate Office Building Rotunda in Washington, D. C. in 1977.

Many collectors have found their way to the doors of the Mitchell Gallery in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks in Keene, New York where the Mitchells have lived and worked since 1972.  A good number of these collectors have purchased upwards of 50 or more paintings of Bruce Mitchells appealing works of art.  And many have returned over the years, adding additional art to their collections.
