Biography
I was born in England, raised in Canada and moved to San Francisco as a young woman. I knew I was home. I raised a family, remodeled homes, painted, did carpentry and made a living making production art pieces. During this time I attended U.C. Extension, College of Marin and studied with various art instructors. Now I have a studio in the Novato Art Center, and I am a full time professional painter. Each of my paintings is an exploration of the use of line shape and color. When I am painting I get lost in the doing of it. I may paint over and over on one painting or feel that it is finished in a few strokes. There is nothing that I do that is as satisfying as the act of creating. When I feel a work is finished I hope some of the emotion in the work conveys a feeling or a memory and transports the viewer to another place.
